1. What is Shared Branching?
Shared Branching is a cooperative network of credit unions that
allow “Guest Members” from any participating credit union to
perform transactions at CU Service Centers® locations across the
United States. In other words, your credit union and others are
joining together and Sharing their Branches so you can conduct
financial transactions where you live, work or travel. You now
have access to over 3,500 locations.

3. What is a CU Service Center®?
It is a Shared Branching location that processes financial
transactions for “Guest Members.”
4. What transactions can I perform at CU
Service Center®?
- Deposits
- Withdrawals (may be limited)
- Balance Inquiries
- Loan Payments
- Transfers
- Transaction Histories

6. What are the differences between a CU
Service Center® and my credit union?
Policies at a CU Service Center® may differ from those at
your credit union, for instance:
- Length of holds (determined by your credit union)
- You will need to completely fill out transactions slips
- You will be required to prove your identification
- Drive-thru not always available to “Guest Members”

7. What information can’t I get from a CU
Service Center®?
- Questions or problems with your statement
- Any account information over the phone
- Loan, Savings, and other Rates
- Direct Deposits & Payroll Deductions set ups
8. What do I need to bring with me to
perform a transaction at a CU Service Center®?
- Valid Photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID)
- Credit Union Name
- Account Number (CU Service Centers® don't have the
ability to look up your account number)

9. How long does it take for the
transaction to reach my account?
The transaction is “real-time” which means it is just like being
at your credit unions branch.
10. Why are some checks placed on hold?
The length holds on funds deposited at CU Service Centers® are
determined by your credit union. The CU Service Centers® sends a
hold status code for each check taken. Only the your credit
union can release funds for availability.

11. What does it mean, “Look for the
Swirl”?
“Look for the Swirl” refers to the CU Service Center® Swirl
Logo. You can easily identify a CU Service Center® location by
looking for the Swirl Logo. Some Service Centers and Outlets
will have it on the pole sign and all will have the Swirl on
